WHAT IS CBT?

Introduction to CBT

What is CBT?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a short term and time limited psychological therapy. It is a structured, interactive and goal-based therapy exploring and identifying how our thoughts, feelings, physiology and behaviours are related and how unhelpful patterns and habits can be formed.

CBT focuses on disrupting problematic patterns through challenging thoughts, and changing behaviours and how our body responds, in order to shift and change how we feel in the here and now. It is all about developing new perspectives.

We will work together to identify and understand these unhelpful ways of thinking to develop and agree your personalised treatment plan and goals for change.
